On Darwin's Birthday (February 12, 2009)
For Educators and Parents: 200 Years of Debate
The
date: February 12, 1809. The happening: Charles Darwin is born. The result:
Nearly 150 years ago, Darwin writes On the Origin of Species.
Since that
time, the debate has stirred millions. On this month, the anniversary
of Darwin's 200th birthday, A new
evolution research/resource collection by the Pew Research Center's
Forum on Religion and Public Life marks the anniversary of both the birth
of Darwin and the publication of On the Origin of Species. The

of Darwin's birthday, editors with the National Science Teacher's Association
